North Carolina town prints its own currency

I have no idea what implications this might have for the church (if any) but I thought it was interesting that a town (which is much larger than a church) would and could create a sort of fundamental change in something as large as the "economy" and "buying habits".

I get the feeling that if a town can create institutional change such as this, then surly people within a church can change their church's institutional structure...
