Looking out each others bungholes

If you listen to a preacher over time you might discover that the preacher really just says the same things over and over again. The irony is that this makes it easy and difficult for the preacher. Easy in that the preacher does not have to think about what to preach about in the spring or in December, those are set. Difficult in that the preacher has to find new ways to say these deep truths of the faith.

And sometimes the difficulty of the preaching task takes its toll and there is a break in the filter in what is good to put in a sermon and what is good to leave out.

Enter the bunghole story.

Happy Thanksgiving.
