The internet is beginning to give some traction to the micro-giving that the internet used to deem impossible (Listen to or read this report). So if you are reading this blog, then you are ahead of the internet because a few months ago, this blog has been accepted as a content creator for the "CentUp" micro-giving project.

Reading Be the Change saves lives - really.

Back in 2013 I shared about CentUp, and how it was a way to practice generosity with, literally, cents. 

And today, on my 32nd birthday, I am pleased to announce that Be the Change has been approved as a publisher for CentUp!

(In order to do this you will have to set up an account with centup but that takes 2.5 minutes. PLUS if you see the centup button anywhere else on the web, like on the Second City Comedy Network, you can donate to that content as well!)

This little button allows people who make the content that you read, watch, and enjoy to keep making the content without having to put ads up all over the place. Plus you can use your "cents" to vote up content as well. There is nothing like telling a content creators, "hey make more of stuff like this!" when you throw a quarter their way. 

So, how does all this save lives?

A book that changed my life accepted my quote

Ever had a book that just changed your life? 

Me too. 

That is not 100% accurate. There are about a half dozen books that changed my life. However, one of these books is Ched Myers' Binding the Strong Man (Orbis Books: 1988). 

I was notified by Myers that he used words I sent him in 2011 about Binding the Strong Man in a blog post celebrating the 25th anniversary of the book. 

And so I join in with Myers in celebrating this great milestone. I know that everyone recommends books they feel would change other's lives and you will probably not read this book. But the fact of the matter is I do not have to recommend this book for you to read because if you have read or heard much of my own thought then you have been exposed to the wonder of Binding the Strong Man.

I echo Myers when he says, "I’m still trying to embody the discipleship vision of Mark’s gospel in my life and work."
